Delivering a happy, healthy baby into this world requires a great deal of caring, dedication and effort — not just from you, but also from the hospital you choose. It takes the coordinated skills of a team of caring professionals to ensure the best possible treatment throughout your pregnancy and after you go home. This is what we do at the Women's Center at Decatur General.

Our full-service labor and delivery, nursery and postpartum teams offer the latest techniques in pain management, relaxation and physical support. And, should the need for more complex care arise, our state-of-the-art facilities and highly trained staff are backed by more than 85 years of delivering babies in Decatur. We encourage you to let us know your wishes for the birth of your baby by completing a personalized birth plan.

Comprehensive Prenatal Care
Healthy babies start with healthy pregnancies. Our comprehensive programs cover everything from what to eat and how to exercise, to proper breathing and relaxation techniques during labor. Prenatal classes are offered throughout the year. Our nurses are available to answer your questions. In addition, an abundance of information about every stage of pregnancy is available in our Mother's Heart Pregnancy Newsletter series.

State-of-the-Art Labor and Delivery Facilities
All rooms and suites in the Women's Center are private, fully equipped with the highest technology and furnished comfortably to make the room feel more like home.

To help ease your mind and allow us to introduce ourselves to you before delivery, we offer tours of the Women's Center every Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Spouses and children are welcome. If you would like to schedule a tour, please call (256) 341-2111.
