In addition to being the only certified Comprehensive Community Cancer Care program by the American College of Surgeons in Morgan County, the Decatur General Oncology Center is recognized for offering the broadest spectrum of cancer care in our region. That means you receive compassionate, world-class care that encompasses the whole person, from your initial diagnosis and treatment through rehabilitation, ongoing emotional support and recovery.

Your cancer doesn’t take a break when you leave our facility. And neither do we. Our approach involves the tireless skills and expertise of physicians, nurses, technicians and support staff working around the clock for your care. When needed, we convene a specialized tumor board, enabling collaboration and insight from physicians and experts in radiation and medical oncology, pathology, surgery, radiology. Specialized nutritionists meet weekly to discuss new patients, new treatments and preferred methods for continually improving their outcomes. And in those cases where hospice becomes necessary, we are ready, too—with involved, informed specialists who have you and your family’s best interests at heart.

Decatur General Oncology Center is one of the few facilities in Alabama with both a certified medical dosimetrist and a board-certified medical physicist. Our physician staff includes two radiation oncologists, all board-certified in their specialties. Each member of the Oncology Center staff is trained or certified in his or her respective field. Beyond that, the Center participates regularly in cutting-edge research and protocols in conjunction with larger research facilities and hospitals.
