VESTIBULAR BALANCE & DYSFUNCTION PROGRAM
RehabAccess offers treatment programs that address issues associated with balance and vestibular dysfunction - loss of balance due to dizziness - to help patients get back to performing daily tasks, such as bending over to tie their shoes. Our physical therapist is trained in maneuvers such as the Semont's procedure, Epley maneuver and other Canalith Repositioning procedures for patients with vestibular dysfunction. These procedures involve precise head and body movements to reposition the debris in the inner ear as an effort to restore balance.
Vestibular exercise programs can provide the following benefits.
- Increase cervical range of motion.
- Improve postural stability in order to maintain balance.
- Increase strength and endurance (aerobic capacity).
- Increase eye, head and body coordination.
