Located between the Tennessee River and the Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge, Decatur is surrounded by natural beauty. The city is rich in history, featuring many late-nineteenth century homes in the original town site, as well as numerous new neighborhoods merging the traditions of yesterday with the modern conveniences of today.

Decatur is currently home to 55,000 people and continues to grow as more industries, such as Boeing, 3M and General Electric move into the area. Residents enjoy shopping and dining, excellent schools and recreation ranging from seasonal festivals to hiking, swimming, golfing and biking at Point Mallard Park.

Decatur is conveniently located 30 minutes from Huntsville, 1 1/2 hours from Birmingham, 2 hours from Nashville and 4 hours from Atlanta.
