DECATUR GENERAL FOUNDATION FUND-RAISING CAMPAIGNS

Decatur General, growing with the community, is constantly expanding in effort to ensure that community health needs are met. Decatur General Foundation, by raising funds for hospital expansions, services and new equipment, helps make this happen.

Current Campaigns

Community Free Clinic of Decatur-Morgan County
Decatur General is currently raising funds for the establishment of a free health clinic for the uninsured and/or low-income people in Decatur and Morgan County. This clinic will be located in the former Baugh Wiley Smith Hospital on Prospect Drive and is scheduled to open Spring 2003. Past Campaigns

Our Next Generation
Although this campaign is almost completed, the Foundation is still accepting donations for the Kermit Pitt, MD Pediatric Center. If you would like to make a gift to this campaign and invest in the future of the children in this community, please complete the donation form at the bottom of the page. Donors of this campaign will be permanently recognized on a hot air balloon-themed donor wall in the new pediatric center.

Oncology Center
Pledges from this campaign helped build our Oncology Center in 1987. This comprehensive cancer center is one of the few in Alabama with a certified medical dosimetrist and a board-certified medical physicist. Providing state-of-the-art technology and compassionate care, the staff of this Center has touched thousands of lives.

75th Anniversary
This campaign, which began in 1990, helped fund our Cardiac Catheterization Lab, enabling us to provide cardiac catheterizations and other procedures, such as stent implants, as outpatient procedures in the hospital.

Spirit of Life
Two areas that touch thousands of lives, our Women's Center and Emergency Department expansion, were made possible from pledges from the Spirit of Life campaign, which began in 1997. Each year, 1,800 babies are born at the Women's Center and more than 55,000 patients are seen in the Emergency Department!

We greatly appreciate the generosity of our many donors. Due to their faithfulness in giving, Decatur General has been able to provide many new and much needed services to the community. We recognize our donors in areas throughout the hospital and in our publications. Our main donor wall is located in the main lobby of the hospital, and our newest donor wall, from the "Our Next Generation" campaign, is located on the fourth floor, near the Kermit Pitt, MD Pediatric Center.
