THE EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

The Employee Assistance Program of the Behavioral Medicine Center provides institutions with an opportunity to help their employees who may be experiencing personal or emotional problems that may affect their jobs. Counselors help employees find the right solutions to their problems or refer them to appropriate providers of the need. This confidential service may be accessed voluntarily or by supervisor referral.

Individuals that may benefit from this service usually are struggling with one of the following.

Personal
  • stress
  • depression
  • anxiety
  • drugs
  • alcohol
  • divorce
  • family conflicts
  • sleep disturbance
  • finances
  • grief/loss

Job-Related
  • tardiness
  • absenteeism
  • inappropriate behavior or attitude
  • decreased productivity
  • anger
  • career decisions
  • violations of drug and alcohol policies


Specific services and the number of sessions available to an employee are tailored to the individual needs of the individual company. As part of our EAP program, we provide supervisory training including workshops on stress management, conflict resolution, team building, drug-free workplace and DOT requirements.
